About you and this role:
Dow has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Electrical Technology Manager. As a Senior Electrical Technology Manager for the Energy & Climate Technology Center, you will be responsible for supporting Project Long Mott. Project Long Mott is a Small Modular Nuclear Reactor project, located in Seadrift, Texas. This role aligns to the Energy Technology Center. Key areas of focus will be supporting the OSBL (Outside Battery Limits) portion of the project which will connect power generation assets between PLM and Seadrift Operations. Other smaller assignments from the Tech Center may be assigned as workload allows.
Responsibilities:
Provides leadership in translating the Energy and Climate Technology Center strategy to Project Long Mott, by leveraging global technical resources and knowledge in implementing the best electrical technology to ensure safe and reliable system designs.
Interface with Project Long Mott team, Operations and Maintenance organizations.
Perform technical reviews for accuracy, completeness, and quality of any aspect of electrical system designs for Project Long Mott.
Provide technical guidance to project team on power plant/BOP electrical design.
Provide technical guidance to project team on HV/MV electrical distribution design.
Serve as a liaison between the project team and the Energy and Climate Technology Center.
Required qualifications:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree or relevant military experience at or above a U.S. E6 ranking or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant.
A minimum of 7 years of engineering, manufacturing or related experience.
Extensive knowledge in analysis of industrial and utility power systems.
Willingness to travel in order to support project up to 25% annually.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any @type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.
Preferred qualifications:
A degree in Electrical Engineering.
Experience in evaluating alternatives for industrial power system configurations.
Knowledge of steam turbine generators, gas-insulated switchgear and power transformers.
Your skills:
Electrical Power Systems Design:Understanding of power generation auxiliary electrical systems design and operation.
Power Plant Design:Understanding electricity generation facilities to support engineering and operations.
Technical Leadership:Leadership is the ability of an individual or a group of individuals to influence and guide followers or other members of an organization.
Communication: Professional communication, encompasses written, oral, visual and digital communication within a workplace @context.

This role does involve elevated work greater than or equal to four feet above the ground.
Must be able to wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), including harnesses with a total weight capacity of 300lbs.
Additional notes:
Role will initially be based at engineering offices in Houston, Texas. Role may be required to relocate to Seadrift, Texas for the duration of construction and commissioning and start up.
Travel to vendor factories will be required.
